I rode this in the summer of 2020 between lockdowns. It golden highlight in a weird year. The loop covered some bits we knew already from previous trips like the Badger Divide and linked up by some we didn't. We nearly didn't go. Life nearly got in the way. The weather was glorious. Scotland delivered. 95% off-road and barely another soul out there.
First up - full route and route naming credits go to Jay Golian who's route Cameron (who all the pics are of) had seen a while back and we'd earmarked as 'would really like to do'. We left Edinburgh early doors, followed the A9 north and parked at the station in Dalwhinnie. As we set off the weather looked ominous; grumpy dark clouds and snow still on the very tops.
But it just got better and better. We'll let the images do the talking on this one but you can find a link to the route below. We're thinking of doing a little series of premium UK all-road day rides/overnighters so watch this space...
